Danny Friedman is a Principal Agent/Manager and the President of Compass Artist Management. Following his attendance at the highly regarded University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, Friedman secured a position with the CanWest Global Television Network. During his 17-year tenure there, he held the titles of “Executive Producer, Children’s Programming,” “Senior Producer, Promotions” and “Music Director” for all of CanWest International's television assets including, Global TV in Canada, Network 10 in Australia and La Red in Chile. In 2015, Danny embarked on a new direction and transitioned to artist management. He is now proud to represent artists in the fields of Film, Television and Theatre. Having worked on the network TV side as a producer, and in the music industry as an artist, Friedman has a unique perspective to offer his artists. He is passionate about helping people achieve their goals and dreams, and works tirelessly to earn the trust bestowed in him by his clients.
Robyn Friedman is Co-Founder of Compass Artist Management and a Principal Agent/Manager. One of Canada’s most respected and sought-after agents, Robyn has been working with talent for thirty-five years. During that time, she has nurtured and helped grow the careers of many of this country’s finest and most successful actors, many of whom work internationally and are known throughout the world. With a deep love for the arts in all its forms, and more than three decades in the business, Robyn has forged strong ties with producers, directors, casting directors and others in the film, television and theatre world. With key International management and agent partnerships, Robyn is known to have a keen eye for spotting talent. She is regularly invited to industry panels to advise emerging actors on how to launch successful careers. She is proud of the many seasoned and highly-regarded artists who have been with her for decades. The unwavering loyalty of the talent on Robyn’s roster is a testament to her skill, integrity and the strong bonds she continues to build.
Jane Cai comes to C.A.M. with over 10 years of experience as a “Client Services Manager” at a full-service music production company and multi-studio recording facility in downtown Toronto. In this position Jane was responsible for coordinating sessions and liaising with clients, as well as, corporate relations. Six years ago, Cai embarked on a new professional journey in the live event space. Quickly becoming one of the busiest and most sought after “Event Managers” in the city, Jane was responsible for the coordination and management of large- scale live events at some of the most notable venues across the country. Jane’s considerable experience dealing with clients, managing staff and overseeing and executing complicated events, will be tremendously advantageous as she embarks on a new journey with Compass Artist Management.
A graduate of Chicago’s prestigious Northwestern University, Noreen began her career in her native NYC. Landing a sought-after position at Don Buchwald and Assoc. – a top New York talent agency with an acclaimed Voice Division – Noreen’s love of voice performance began. From there, she was tapped to come north and head the Voice Division at The Talent Group – a leading Toronto talent agency. Over the next ten years, she would represent 100’s of Toronto’s most renown voice performers at agencies such as Talent Group, The Characters and Noble Caplan Abrams. The second phase of Noreen’s career began in 2006. She would accept a one-year Contract with ACTRA Toronto, to steward Animation productions. This position evolved into a ten-year sojourn, where her docket grew to include youth series (on and off camera), Video Game productions (including the launch of the Ubisoft Toronto office), and Content created specifically for New Media applications. In joining Compass Artist Management, Noreen’s career has come full circle and she is back to her first love. “We have some incredibly talented Performers on this Roster, and I can’t wait to help them expand their career horizons.”
Stephanie Zavitz joins C.A.M. in the role of Manager/Accounting. With over 30 years of experience in the corporate, financial and HR sector, Zavitz is well positioned to manage the financial and reporting end of Compass Artist Management. Beginning her career as an accounts payable clerk, Stephanie would go on to spend 14 years as a business analyst in the functional operation of multiple pay platforms and would devote the next 10 years of her career to being the Employee Programs Manager at one of the largest utilities in the country. Stephanie brings a wealth of business experience to C.A.M. and is very much looking forward to joining the team and building C.A.M. into an amazing company that is sure to be a success story.
